1. How do we enroll in AIS?

2. Is there a required interview or admissions test?

Yes. Every child meets with the school psychologist to help with the settling in process. They also complete an admission assessment to ensure they are placed in the appropriate class. Tests are written in either Russian and English depending on the child's native language.

3. Can students start mid-term?

Yes, it is quite common for students to start in international schools mid-term. We will assess your child to ensure they are placed at a level they are comfortable at. 

4. Do you have a payment plan?

Payments can be made as a lump sum or in 2 or 3 installments.

5. Is the entrance fee paid yearly?

No. The €2000 is paid only once upon admission to our school or kindergarten.
Every year, you pay only for teaching. This amount includes all required classes, as well as optional study groups and sports sections organized at the center: feeding, teachers' services, coaches, doctors and security guards. Additional charges apply only to extra-curricular trips on weekends or holidays, school uniforms and teaching aids.

6. Does AIS offer any discounts?

Yes!
- For parents enrolling their second child there is a discount of 10% 
- For embassy employees there's a 15% discount for one child and a 20% discount for two
- For corporate clients there is a discount of 15% 

7. Do you have a financial aid programme?

Atlantic International School offers financial aid on an individual basis. 
Please contact the school directly for further information.  

8. Are textbooks included in the annual fees?

Unfortunately they're not. AIS will acquire the textbooks on our parents behalf for ease. These can then be purchased by bank transfer directly into the school's account. 
Alternatively, we can provide textbook titles and parents can purchase them independently.  

9. What curriculum do AIS follow?

Pre-school
- For lessons conducted in English we follow the British National Curriculum 
- For lessons conducted in Russian we follow the Russian education programme.
Primary and Secondary School
- For English section we follow the British Curriculum
- For Russian section we follow the Russian State Curriculum

10. Are your classes conducted in Russian or English?

Our pupils are taught in their native (or close to native) language. For example, English speaking children are taught in English (with the obvious exception being their foreign language classes).

11. Does my child have to be able to speak English/Russian?

Both English and Russian are compulsory subjects. At AIS we have a dedicated staff who will assist any children who cannot speak those languages both on an individual basis and in a group environment.

12. What is the depth of experience of your teachers?

All our teachers are fully qualified and experienced. The AIS teaching staff is comprised of trained linguists and subject teachers.

13. What are the class sizes at Primary and Secondary level?

Up to 12 students attend each class. This allows our teachers to individualise lessons. No child will be left unchallenged or struggling at AIS.

14. What is the pupil to teacher ratio in the kindergarten classes?

There's a maximum of 12 kids in a kindergarten class. As such, the teachers and nannies have time to pay attention to each child.

15. Do you have an after-school programme?

Yes, we have two such programmes.
At pre-school level our after-school programme is designed to develop the creativity and social skills of our pupils. Children attend art, drama, music, choreography and constructive play classes. 
For Primary and Secondary pupils we have an extensive list of clubs including:
Swimming, chess, drama, art, music, dance, ICT, piano, guitar, football, athletics and gymnastics. 

16. Do you teach any foreign languages?

In addition to the compulsory English and Russian classes, AIS offers tuition in French, Spanish, Italian and German.

17. I would like to send my child to your private school, but I'm afraid that the program is too complicated and I can't help with his homework.

We understand your concern. The academic process at AIS provides a simple and at the same time profound material supply. For the purpose of progress assessment all homework is done at the centre under the supervision of teachers, who are always ready to clarify any questions raised.
In addition, there is a system of individual lessons to help with any knowledge gaps (i.e. due to absence etc.) 

18. In what kind of environment are the children taught?

Atlantic International School is located in a modern and newly renovated building. We have spacious bright rooms with modern teaching and learning aids, a secure schoolyard, sports areas, slides, and sandboxes for the children. 

19. My child has learning/medical/social needs. Am I able to enroll him/her?

At AIS there is a full-time speech therapist, psychologist and nurse. These staff members are available throughout the day to assist pupils with any needs they have.
Upon admission to the kindergarten or school all the medical records of the child go to them. 

20. Is there a meal programme at AIS?

Yes, every child is provided with nutricious meals and snacks 4 times a day, including: breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner.
The price is covered by annual school fees. 

21. I have a child with allergies. Can he be fed at your school?

Yes, he can. At Atlantic International School balanced and varied meals are provided four times daily. 
For children with allergies, the centre's nutritionist draws up a special menu.

22. Is there a transportation programme?

Yes, AIS provides transport from selected areas in Moscow.

23. Is the school uniform compulsory?

Yes, the uniform needs to be worn at all times in line with our uniform policy.

24. How do AIS and parents communicate?

Pre-school parents are sent regular updates regarding their child's progress and upcoming events.
Primary and Secondary: on a weekly basis. Every Friday our teachers send an update to each parent regarding their child's social and academic development.
Additionally, quaterly parents evenings are held to discuss each child's progress.
